Random: I watched the movie "Contagion" and remembered a line which Dr. Sussmann said, "Blogging is not writing, it's just graffiti with punctuation". No doubt, lots of bloggers will take offense with that, some actually do put in lots of work and research, especially those blogging about their profession, what they are passionate about, and offer quite deep insight into the topic itself. Sometimes I wonder about graffiti artists too, there are many "secret" places in Sydney where graffiti artists spray their work and they are amazing pieces of creative artworks.
Blogging can be too I guess... but not this one! :D Anyway, I digress... though anyone who hasn't seen Contagion should really watch it. Outstanding movie, great plot, film score/music... they really knew how to use silence to heighten tension, overall an impressive movie. "In Time" on the other hand... was quite a disappointment.

Back to food! After the flurry of exams, assignments and work, there's finally time to sit down, edit photos, upload and blog. This is a test of memory, since most of the photos are from weeks back, but it's time to get back into the roll of blogging.

So the other day after placement on Wednesday at Burwood, we (couple of colleagues) decided to head to Petersham. Placement always take up more energy than expected and we're usually famished afterwards.

I have never been to Petersham before. Train has gone past many times- it's one of those mini stops between Strathfield and Redfern... near Newtown. Randomly dropped by this one called Gloria, based purely on what we could see of the interior. Looked nice, clean and cosy. This was their Sangria, a type of fruity wine punch. Lots of alcohol in this one, and clearly not my order =P

I was much more interested in the food. Menu was quite extensive, with snacks like this one- chorizo which you cook by yourself at the table, and mains like pasta and risotto, as well as desserts like rice pudding, chocolate mousse and egg tarts.

Originally wanted a dessert, but they were out of the Portuguese tarts and I wasn't too interested in the other ones, so I ordered a chicken chorizo and chicken giblets.

The chorizo came suspended on a cute dish with (I suspect) alcohol or some sort of fuel at the bottom, which the waitress lit at the table. It's like a mini barbecue :D Tall flames kinda charred the chorizo a bit on the edges, but it's still very much edible and was so good~

Chicken giblets with special house sauce. Was actually hoping for more hearts and gizzard (the BEST part), but they included liver as well, which I wasn't too fond of. As expected from giblets though. These were nicely marinated and the sauce was absolutely delicious. Came with bread as well, to mop the sauce up.
My friend really enjoyed the Sangria- they actually freshly cut the blood orange up and the scent was really fragrant. I'll admit to a few tiny sips just to try (and justified it by thinking it's a fruit punch, can't be that bad), but you can tell, the alcohol content is actually quite high. Anyway, Petersham is quite an interesting place, might try more of its cafes out in the future.
